Los Angeles Indonesian Film Festival 2015 Opens Submission

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Aug 21, 2015 — Following the success of the first Los Angeles Indonesian Film Festival (LAIFF) in 2014, LAIFF is calling for entries to its annual festival this year. Filmmakers all over Indonesia are welcome to submit their short and feature films.

The second annual LAIFF will be held on November 10th to 12th at The Regent Theater in Westwood Village, Los Angeles. This 3-Day Festival will screen a number of critically praised feature films and a compilation of short films to showcase Indonesian talents and beauty.

“We have two short film programs: From Indonesia with Love, feauring short films that produced in Indonesia by Indonesian filmmakers; and From US with Love, featuring short films that produced in USA by at least one Indonesian filmmaker as a key crew,” said Roland Wiryawan, the Director of Program and Co-founder of LAIFF.

In addition to two short film programs, LAIFF has seven slots for feature films. The premiere of the submitted feature films should be between January 1, 2014 – November 12, 2015.

“The requirements are all up on our website and we are looking forward to receiving well-produced Indonesian films. We can’t wait to share what we have to the world,” explained Endah Redjeki, the Founder of LAIFF.

As per last year, besides inviting the film enthusiasts in LA to attend the screening of Indonesian feature and short films, LAIFF also invites people who work in the film industry to join its workshop program.

“Our vision and mission stay the same. It is a chance for Indonesian filmmakers to show thheir talents in the world capital of film industry, where the filmmakers who are based here in the US can learn more about the opportunity in making films in Indonesia, expand their networks, and talk face-to-face with the people in the industry aand regulators,” Endah Redjeki stated.

LAIFF is supported by Badan Perfilman Indonesian (BPI). The list of Indonesian filmmakers who will be going to L.A. is to be released in September 2015.
